Bialystock and Bloom! Bialystock and Bloom! In 1959 New York, former King of Broadway Max Bialystock and mousy accountant Leo Bloom decide to produce the worst play ever, in an attempt to make off with a million dollars. Playwright Franz Liebkind, director Roger De Bris and his common-law partner Carmen Ghia, along with sexy secretary Ulla don’t know the real reason they are hired, but when the show is a surprise hit, Max ends up in jail while Leo and Ulla flee to Rio. Based on the Mel Brooks film, the Tony-winning musical includes the songs I Wanna Be a Producer, Keep it Gay, Prisoners of Love, and of course, Springtime for Hitler.
