Middle-aged Joe Boyd is a long-suffering Washington Senators fan, while his long-suffering wife Meg bemoans his fandom. Devilish Mr. Applegate appears to Joe, and gives him the opportunity to play ball as young Joe Hardy who takes the team to the pennant championship. In an attempt to distract Joe, the old devil sends Lola to distract him, but his love for Meg continues to save Joe. As the clock runs down, Joe is transformed back to his old self, he hits one last homer for the team, and returns to his life with Meg. Includes the songs Heart and Whatever Lola Wants.
