The standard lens height of the Spot Dot 3.0 is 4.5 inches above the base. Some customers have desired a greater distance. The standoff upgrade kit gives you three additional choices: 5.5 inches, 6.5 inches or 7.5 inches.
Although we don't necessarily recommend the additional standoff distance because the torque produced by the weight of the sight will reduce the magnets efficiency, we offer this option due to customer request. We highly suggest purchasing the magnet upgrade if you choose to extend the standoff height.
