Based on the movie musical, this stage version brings music and dancing to the Oregon Territory of the 1850s. Oldest brother Adam goes to town in search of a wife (Bless Your Beautifil Hide); he meets waitress Milly, and takes back to his remote ranch, and his six brothers: Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank (Frankinsense), and Gideon. Milly attempts to tame the brothers and teach them some civility, but it all falls apart when the boys meet a group of young ladies at a barn-raising, and kidnap them Sobbin Women. A six-couple shotgun wedding ends the story, as Adam and Milly welcome their new daughter, Hannah.
