Ken Ludwigs comedy of mistaken identities. Set in 1934 Cleveland, the action takes place in a hotel suite over the course of one night. Famed Italian tenor Tito Merelli is set to perform Pagliacci, but is unable to perform. Max, the harried assistant of Henry Saunders, steps into Titos costume and make-up, and fools Henry, his daughter Maggie, and the rest of the audience. Titos wife Maria, and the local diva Diana join in the fray.
